Dialogue Between Service Providers and Community People

Gender Equality through Peoples Initiative (GEPI) Project under Udayankur Seba Sangstha (USS) has arranged dialogue between service providers and community people supported by Manusher Jonno Foundation (MJF) at Khokshabari Union porishod field, Khokshabari, Nilphamari on 19 September’2019.

Objective of the event:

1. To inform regarding services like health, legal aid, security & marriage rules to community actors and  right holders
2. Make accountable and responsible of community actors and duty bearers for gender equality
3. Joint action plan prepare by duty bearers and community actors for to eliminate gender based violence and reduce gender based discrimination.

The program was chaired by Md. Bodiujaman Prodhan, Chairmen of Khokshabari Union Parisad. Dr. Md Fajlul Haquie, Ex RMO, Nilphamari sador Hospital, Nilphamari and Md. Khairul Alam, Farm Manager, Government fish seed production farm, Nilphamari sador, Nilphamari were present as service providers. Service providers discussed regarding their respective services. There were present Groups members, Union social support committee members and UP members were present in the program. Total 50 participants were present among of them 25 female and 25 male. The following question arise by participants-

1. Why the doctor refers us at Rangpur, when we go to nilphamari sodor hospital? Said, Nirmol Chondro Roy.
2. Why the doctors prescripts us in white paper, there has no signature and sill. Said, Sopon Mia.
3.  Why we buy medicine, when we biter by snake, dog etc animals. Said Krishna Rani.
4. What types of medicine we can get in Gov. Hospital? Said Asma begum
5. What services we get from Gov. about fish cultivation? Said, Shapon Mia

Md. Jomil, coordinator of Agriculture, M&E of USS delivered the welcome speech starting of the program. There were discussed about project goal and objectives, objective of the Dialogue between service providers and community people. Md. Abdul Kuddus Sarker, Education coordinator of USS was present as Moderator of the program. The program was conducted questioned and replied through open discussion for improvement of service. Md. Bodiujaman Prodhan, Chairmen of Khokshabari Union Parisad gave thanks to USS and who were attended of the program and provide support for practical discussion.
