Gender Equality through Peoples Initiative (GEPI) Project under Udayankur Seba Sangstha (USS) has arranged Issue Based Orientation for male group members supported by MANUSHER JONNO FOUNDATION (MJF) at Nogorbon, Kittiniapara, Gorgram union of Nilphamari district on 06 August’2019. Total 25 men participants were present in the orientation. There were discussed about project goal & objective, objective of the orientation, difference between sex and gender, gender discriminations and their causes, productive role, reproductive role and social role, position and condition of men and women at family & society at present, violence, type of violence, causes & effect of violence against women, rights, Human rights and RTI Act 2009. At fast the orientation was contradictory and after the discussion the orientation was very interactive. After completing the orientation session participants have increased the capacity RTI Act and knowledge on rights and human rights, VAW, Gender. Expressions of participants here; “We are very happy to attend the orientation and to know the human rights and also to know the RTI Act and action process. We will try the RTI law in Union Parishad (UP) as soon as possible to getting list and information of VGD, VGF, Widow allowance, PWD allowance, Lectating mother allowance etc. Awareness raising regarding Dangue symptoms, prevention measure about to end of discussion. The orientation was facilitated by Jharna Rani Ray, project coordinator of GEPI project of USS, Md. Abdul Kuddus Sarker, Information Officer & coordinator of education of USS and Md. Jomil, coordinator of Agriculture, M&E of USS.
