Annual convention, 2015 held in Nilphamari Dimla upazila dated on 1st September at upazila auditorium, Dimla, Nilphamari. The program was organized by Girls and young women forum and Civil Society Organization of Dimla. The annual convention was presided over by Md.Rezaul Karim, Upazilla Nirbahi officer of Dimla. While Md.Zakir Hossain, Deputy Commissioner of Nilphamari attended in the program as chief guest. Among of others Md Tobibul Islam, Chairman of Dimla upazilla, Alauddain Ali, Executive Director, USS, Md. Rabiul Islam Shahin, Chairman, Tepakhoribari UP, Firaz kabir, Asst. Police super, Nilphamari,Shahidul Islam, Upazila Secretary of ruling party, Mr. Haripodo Roy, Project Manager, Plan International Bangladesh, Nilphamari unit attended as special guests in the event. A group of girls demonstrated karate in the event. At the end of the event the chief guest distributed crest among volunteer services for reducing gender based violence for girls and young women especially preventing child marriage in Dimla upazila. Chief guest and the other guests thanked USS and Plan International Bangladesh for organizing such an important event for the girls and young women. “I am very much pleased to see the event and the voices of girls and young women here. Obviously I will share the good practices with other upazilas so that Girls may have a common platform to raise their rights” said Md. Zakir Hossain, Deputy Commissioner of Nilphamari in his speeches.
