Dialogue Between Service Providers and Community People at Gorgram Union

Gender Equality through Peoples Initiative (GEPI) Project under Udayankur Seba Sangstha (USS) has arranged dialogue between service providers and community people supported by Manusher Jonno Foundation (MJF) at Gorgram Union porishod field, Gorgram, Nilphamari on 22 September’2019.

Objective of the event:

• To inform regarding services like health, legal aid, security & marriage rules to community actors and  right holders
• Make accountable and responsible of community actors and duty bearers for gender equality
• Joint action plan prepare by duty bearers and community actors for to eliminate gender based violence and reduce gender based discrimination.

The program was chaired by Md. Reajul Islam, Chairmen of Gorgram Union Parisad. Dr. Md Fajlul Haquie, Ex RMO, Nilphamari sador Hospital, Nilphamari and Aruna Chocroboti, Hindu marriage registrars, Nilphamari sador, Nilphamari were present as service providers. Service providers discussed regarding their respective services. There were present Groups members, Head teacher, Union social support committee members and UP members were present in the program. Total 50 participants were present among of them 22 female and 28 male.

3. What rules of hindu marriage registration? Said, Shankor Roy.
4. Why the doctors encourage operation of a pregnant mother? Said, Mosharof Hosen
5.  Why we buy medicine, when we biter by snake, dog etc animals. Said Marufa.
6. Is her treatment secret or not, if a female rape? Said, Suchona.
7.  Why the doctors see patients very quickly in hospital, but the same doctor see slowly in private time? Said Anand.

 Md. Abdul Kuddus Sarker, Education coordinator of USS delivered the welcome speech starting of the program. Jharna Rani Roy, PC of GEPI project explained about project goal and objectives, objective of the Dialogue between service providers and community people. The program was conducted questioned and replied through open discussion for improvement of service. Md. Reajul Islam, Chairmen of Gorgram Union Parisad said that we will very careful from child marriage and he gave closing speech.
