Udayankur Seba Sangstha (USS), Nilphamari arranged Alternative Wetting and Drying (AWD) meeting by supported by RDRS Bangladesh, IRRI and BRRI at Palashbari Masterpara and Kisamot vutian doctorpara under Palashbari union of Nilphamari district on 13th February’2018 and 14th February’2018 for awareness raising of cultivar to examining of water in case of boro rice cultivation and more yield & also profit. 20 rice farmers and one water supplier at Palashbari Masterpara and 26 rice farmers and also one water supplier at Kisamot vutian doctorpara are participated in those meeting separately. Md. Jomil, Agriculture Coordinator of USS facilitated these meeting and discussed how to do set AWD pipe in rice field, when water will be supply to observing magic pipe water level in rice field following AWD procedure. Map has prepared in each AWD block considering land height to estimate how many AWD pipe will be install in each block and farmers list written in the map mentioning their land area. Water flow direction has mentioned from water supply point to rice land in the map. Water supplier and farmers has agreed to win–win AWD procedure of rice cultivation. Sub Assistant Agriculture (SAAO) of Profullo Kumer Roy, Partho Protim and Jannatun Fardous under DAE were present during the meeting at Palashbari Masterpara on 13th February’2018.
