Hatibandha upazila administration has arranged quarterly Upazila Child Welfare Board meeting supported by Plan International Bangladesh and Udayankur Seba Sangstha (USS) at UNO conference room on 20th September’2020. The meeting was conduction by Mahabubul Alam, Upazila social welfare Officer and member secretary of Upazila Child Welfare Board. Samiul Amin UNO of Hatibandha upazila, others child welfare board members and union child & youth network representative from Singimari, Saniajan, Fakirpara, Borokhata, Gotamari and Nowdabash union were present in the meeting. Besides Md. Jomil, Project Coordinator; Abdur Rahim, FC; Ziaur Rahman, M&E coordinator and Bakul Chandra Roy, TO (TFD) were present in the meeting. Child & youth network representative were present child marriage situation and they want support from UNO and law enforcement department to prevent child marriage. UNO said Hatibandha upazila is working as Zero tolerance of child marriage. He also said to network members that you inform me where and when will happen child marriage I will take initiative to prevent child marriage. The participants have given emphasis on counseling with adolescent girls and their parents.
