Networking meeting with Local Press Club- Phulbari, Kurigram

USS and Action Aid Bangladesh always committed to ensure the child rights and their development. From this commitment USS is implementing the various types of activities; one of them is networking meeting with Local Press and community journalist (CJG). This Programme organized by Phulbari Press club and supported by USS & Action Aid Bangladesh.

Objectives of the event:-

• Experience sharing and networking building the among the Community journalist Groups (CJG) & Press club members.
• To increase the capacity building among the community journalist groups members on news /story collection & publication through press club.

Description of the Event: Md. Emdadul Hoque million was played role of chair and Md. Kaykobad Hossain Project Coordinator (PC) of USS delivered welcome speech in the networking meeting. During his speeches he welcomed all the audiences and press club members to make the session successful in order to establish the rights of the children. Md Kaykobad Hossain has played the role of moderator of the networking meeting. Five community Journalist member and five local journalists have taken the part of discussion session on News & journalist arenas. Major discussion issues were bellow to:-

• Major challenge and mitigation measure of journalism in present situation.
• What is the major technique to write the qualitative news?   
• What is process to develop the skill & knowledge of Community journalist Groups members?
•  Way forward on Linkage and supporting role of mechanism with CJG & Press club.

After complete the fruitful discussion press club & CJG agreed to common understanding on the networking meeting which are;

• Phulbari press club always extended their helping hand to transfer the skill & knowledge among the CJG members.
• Phulbari press club provided the list of all journalists & their visiting card.

After completing the Networking meeting than started the open discussion session some participant’s expressions their views which are below:

• I am very much proud to attend the meeting with press club and knowing lots from journalist. Thanks USS & Action Aid Bangladesh for providing support to organize the events..

This first time I am joining the networking meeting it is really enjoyable to us and thank you so much for USS & Action Aid Bangladesh. 

Press club thank to all Community journalist members (CJG) members who have presented information without fear and hesitation. Press club members are very happy to see the performance of children who are playing role as Journalist. It was innovative tools to create the awareness to the children and their development.
