Vutian youth group and Vabonkuri youth group under Palashbari union has arranged Organic pesticide , Bio-pesticide and organic growth hormone demonstration with facilitation of SoS project staffs of Udyankur Seba Sangstha (USS) and Sub Assistant Agriculture Officer (SAAO) supported by USC Canada in their own community on 11th and 15th October’2018 respectively. Objectives of the event were (1) Awareness raising and capacity building of right holders regarding organic pesticide, bio pesticide & organic growth hormone preparation and use (2) Extension of technologies to farmers and (3) Reduce crop production cost.
Group members prepared organic pesticides like combined pesticide ( using cattle urine, onion, garlic, chili dust & other pesticide carrying bitter plan leaves), bio-pesticide like name EMU, organic fungicide Bourdax Mixture and organic growth hormone name Fish Amino Acid for use these in their crops. USS has Plastic drum, hand sprayer and plastic pot support to each group for preparation pesticides and hormone. Total 57 ( Female-42 & male 15) right holder participated in these program. Most of the participants were committed to prepare above these pesticides and use in their crop field.
Through the above activities contribute to achieve the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) like Climate Action, Life Below Water and Life on Land.
