USS has arranged 6th days long Self defense (Karate) training for girls under Gender Equality through Peoples Initiative (GEPI) Project supported by Manusher Jonno Foundation (MJF) at Khokshabari Moniruddin High school on 20 November to 26 November 2019. 25 girls participated in the training. The training was conducted by Gayetree Rani Roy, Mirgonj Union of Jaldhaka Upazila. The trainer used Japanes language to operate the training. The participants received more attentively the training.
Objectives of the program:
â— Girls will know about guide of self defense.
â— To creating confidence of girls.
â— To promoting physical and mental side.
â— Girls are engaged in initiatives to prevent violence.
â—They will protect self and deliver the training to other girls to ensure protection them in any
unwanted situation.
Md. Shofikul Islam, District education officer of Nilphamari was present as chief guest and Alauddin Ali, ED of USS, Md. Harunor Roshid, Assistant Visitor of District education office Nilphamari, were present as special guest in the closing ceremony of the training. There were also present Alhaz Azizar Rahaman, president of Khokshabari Moniruddin High school, Md. Abdul Kuddus Sarker, coordinator of education of USS, Md. Jomil, coordinator of Agriculture, M&E of USS. There were present about 400 participants at the closing ceremony of Self defense training. The program was chaired by Kartic Chandro Roy, Head teacher of Khokshabari Moniruddin High school. The program was started display of karate team. The trainees present their opinion and expression.
The chief guest and special guest were speech about helpfulness of self defense at the closing ceremony. The chief guest was said that, “The training is very important beside education for self reliant of the girls. Every girl should be taken self defense training. I am very happy for this activity. Girls will be confident through this training.’’ At last program president Kartic Chandro Roy was declared the end of the program.
