USS has arranged of World Environment Day observation under PGELKPI project supported by Diakonia at Uttor Ramkola Lower Secondary Girls School of Khokshabari Union under sader upazila of Nilphamari district on 26th June’2018 for awareness raising on environment and sapling distribution.
Md. Badiuzzaman Prodhan Chairman of Khokshabari Union and Md. Selim Sazzad Head teacher of Uttor Ramkola Lower Secondary Girls School were present as chief guest and chair person of the program. Kadija Akter teacher of Uttor Ramkola Lower Secondary Girls School, Nithatanda Chaterji Freedom fighter of Kokshabari, Md Kuddus Sarker M&E Coordinator of USS and Md.Jomil Cordinator SoS Project of USS were also present as guest of the program. Shahnaz Begum Project Coordinator of PGELKPI project of USS over all coordination the program and other staffs of USS were present during the program.
World Environment Day was on 5th of June but we did not observation the day due to disfavor weather for sapling plantation. The slogan of this year’s World Environment day was –“Lets Defeated Plastic Pollutions”
The program was conducted through four steps like discussion, drama, sapling distribution and rally.
Chairperson, Chief Guest and other guests discussed in detail regarding environment, importance of tree plantation, planting system, management etc for awareness raising and knowledge enhancement of participants and local community peoples at first. A team performs drama for awareness raising at second step. USS has distributed over 300 saplings to 150 right holders at third step and finally a colorful rally arranged after distribution of saplings to the participants.
