Women Initiatives for Community Development (W4CD) project of USS have started their development Journey under Local Rights Programme (LRP) at Shimulbari and Borovita union under Phulbari Upazila of Kurigram district since February’2019. The inception meeting was held at Upazila Paisad hall room of Phulbari- Kurigram on 14th July’2019. The meeting organized by Upazila Administration and supported by Udayankur Seba Sangstha (USS) and Action Aid Bangladesh. The meeting was chaired by Md. Golam Rabbani Sarker, Chairmen of Phulbari Upazuila Parisad. Mst Musuma Afrifin, UNO of Phulbari upazila was present as a chief guest. All government officers of Upazila parisad and all UP chairmen were present in the meeting.
Main objectives of the meeting are below -

Md. Kaykobad Hossain, Project coordinator of w4CD project delivered the welcome speech starting of the meeting. The meeting was facilitated by Mst Masuma Arifin UNO of Phulbari Upazila under Kurigram district. USS provided leaflet to the participants on USS and W4CD project Goal and objectives. Participants are well-known about USS and their project and partners. Upazila Administration provided welcome to USS for project implementation to these areas. Upazila Administration believed that it is long project and it may be contribute to community development and poverty alleviation. They will extend their helping hand to implement the project as per requirements.
Md. Golam Rabbani Sarker, Upazila chairmen gave thanks to USS and who were attended of the meeting and provide support for fruitful discussion.
USS is trying to create the democratic space for community development through increasing their participation & development. Action Aid Bangladesh is continuing their financial as well as technical support to implementing the project successfully. USS is grateful to honorable guest and others to providing their suggestions and recommendations for improvement of the project intervention in future.
