Mass Dialogue Held to Protect Child Marriage & Dowry at Chilahati

Mass dialogue held to protect child marriage & dowry at Chilahati girls school and College, Domar upazilla under Nilphamari district dated on 15 March 2016. The program was arranged by Upazilla administration, Domar & Lokokendro forum, Chilahati supported by USS, Nilphamari and Action. The objective of the program is to increase the awareness on child marriage and dowry among the girl and boys who are in danger in child marriage.  Mr. Ayub Ali, Principle Chilahati girl’s school was present as a chair of the program. Mrs. Sabiha Sulatana, Upazilla Nirbahi Officer, Domar was present as chief guest. Mr. Alauddin Ali, Executive Director, Udayankur Seba Sangstha (USS), Abu Taher, Chairman, Vogdaburi Union, Mr. Jahurul Haque Dipu, Chairman, ketkibari Union, Azadul Islam, CSO, s representative, Mr. Zakir Hossain, Principle; Chilahati Fazil Madrasha was present as special guest. 15 male and female participant including students, teachers, up members were participate in dialogue. More than 800 participants were present the program. The program is inaugurated through welcome speech delivered by Babli Rani, member of Lokokendro forum. Then the sponsor child presents an interactive theater (Dukkho Lata). After completing the interactive theater the interactive discussion session started and Mr. Alauddin Ali was conducted the interactive discussion session. Different kinds of question threw to guests and the guest gives the answer of the audience questions. The summary of the interactive discussion were that what is the role and responsibilities of local administration, school, and guardian to stop the child marriage and how they are playing role to stop the child marriage till now. After completing the interactive discussion session then   the chief guest Mrs.Sabiha Sulatana conducted mass oath session to stop child marriage, dowry, drug addiction and child abuse. Participants are also committed that nobody don’t involve in child marriage & dowry and also respect our child marriage act. She said that we are implementing various types of initiative to   awareness rising among the community people. If anyone will ignore law, obviously local administration will take necessary  steps.
