USS has conducted monthly meeting of children forum with sponsored children in two group age 12-15 years children and age 16-18 years children where 712 girls and 244 boys were also present at Jaldhaka upazila supported by Plan International Bangladesh.
Challenges: A number of Sponsorship girls are engaging in Uttara Export Processing Jone (UEPZ) or hair company for their poverty, that is why they are not participate in our intervention and they will not aware to improving knowledge on gender responsive safeguarding, child violence, life skill, child labor and to ensure child rights.
Learning’s: Need to strong sustainable intervention like Income Generating Activity (IGA) to mitigate poverty and continue education of sponsorship children especially girls, linkage in social safety net program and popularizing technical education
Objectives of the event:
• 1200 SC will participate in 384 sessions in FY22 to improve knowledge on Child protection laws & policy, gender responsive safeguarding, child violence, life skill, child labor and take collective initiative against child violence and to ensure child rights.
• 12 child forums members developed their capacity on child protection mechanism & playing role as a community advocate in FY22.
• 378 children are free from Child marriage & child labor and continuing their education in FY22.
What and how it was implemented:
As per agreement of FY22 USS has formed 48 children forum in Jaldhaka working areas by sponsorship children. Considering this issue USS has already completed formation of 48 children forum at Jaldhaka. Every forum consists of 20 members and they will sit one time in a month. After formation 1st meeting has also completed in 36 children forum. Children forum meeting also will be continuing through special topic.

• Reporting & Responding
• etc
Output:
• They have makes a next month plan for developing child friendly Union.
• They also promise that each participant will share learning issues to other 5 persons.
• 758 SC participated in 36 sessions to improve knowledge on Child protection laws & policy laws, gender responsive safeguarding, child violence, life skill, child labor and initiative collective action against child violence and to ensure child rights.
SC/SC family participation: 758 SC/SC Family members have participated in the said meeting.
Total participation: Total 758 participants were present in the quarterly meeting.
Benefit for SC & SC family: sponsorship children have aware on Child protection laws & policy laws, gender responsive safeguarding, child violence, life skill, child labor and they will take collective initiative against child violence and to ensure child rights.
Gender segregation data: SC (Girls-258, Boys-200) & their Family members (Female-0, Male-0) have participated in the said meeting.
