Child welfare board meeting has conducted supported by Plan International Bangladesh and Udayankur Seba Sangstha (USS) at Deputy Commissioner Conference room of Lalmonirhat district on 06 January’2022. Abu Jafor, DC of Lalmonirhat was present as chaired in the program. Besides Abdul Matin, DD of Social Service Department of Lalmonirhat and other child welfare boards were also present.
Superintendent of Police (SP) has said child violence especially child marriage has increased. Farhad Hossain, Child & youth network member of Borokhata union has said I informed to UNO of Hatibandha about marriage of a child then instantly he conducted a mobile court and gives 3 month jail to bright groom on 9 December’2021 mid night. DC said you have responsibilities all to inform UNO regarding child marriage continuously. He has informed to meeting participants to call 333 to stop child marriage.
