Gender Equality through Peoples Initiative (GEPI) Project under Udayankur Seba Sangstha (USS) has arranged Issue Based Orientation for Women groups member supported by MANUSHER JONNO FOUNDATION (MJF) at Gandus Kanaikata, Palashbari union of Nilphamari district on 25 July’2019. Total 25 women participants were present in the orientation. There were discussed about project goal & objective, objective of the orientation, difference between sex and gender, gender discriminations and their causes, productive role, reproductive role and social role, position and condition of women at family & society at present, violence, type of violence, causes & effect of violence against women, rights, Human rights and Rights to Information (RTI). The orientation was very interactive. After completing the orientation session participants have increased the capacity on RTI Act'2009 and knowledge on rights, human rights, VAW, Gender etc. Well known about the role of state for ensuring the rights to the community people. Some expressions of participants here; ‘We are happy to attend the orientation and to know the rights of women and also to know the RTI Act and information receive process. The orientation was facilitated by Jharna Rani Ray, project coordinator of GEPI project of USS, Md. Abdul Kuddus Sarker, Information officer and education coordinator of USS and Md. Jomil, coordinator of Agriculture, M&E of USS.
