Training Held on Seed Production, Collection and Conservation

Two-day training on seed production, collection and conservation has been held among 37 female and 3 male young farmers within 2 batches at Lakshmichap and Polashbari union on 13-14th and 15-16th September 2015 implemented by USS and supported by USC CANADA. The training was inaugurated by Alauddin Ali, Executive Director, USS. The training was conducted by Md. Hamidul Islam, Project coordinator, Seeds of Survival (SOS). After the training period, Omar Faruk, coordinator, Training sector, USS distributed 8 types of vegetable seeds among the trainees. Trainees mentioned after the training that they can develop their financial condition by cultivating these vegetables in their homestead land. As most of the trainees are female, so this training is expected to actively increase the empowerment of women.
