Annual convention 2015 for girls and young women held in Jaldhaka upazila, Nilphamari arranged by Girl & young women forum and Civil society network, Nilphamari and supported by Plan International, Bangladesh and USS, Nilphamari dated on 20th September, 2015 at upazila hall room. In the convention, Honorable Member of Parliament Professor Golam Mostofa, Nilphamari-3 was present as the chief guest. Special guests were Alhaz Sayed Ali, Upazila chairman, Jaldhaka, Md. Abdul Oahed Bahadur, Vice chairman, Jaldhaka upazila, Riva Amzad, women vice chairman, Jaldhaka upazila, Dr. Hrisikesh Sarker, program unit Manager, Plan International Bangladesh, Nilphamari programme unit, Alauddin Ali, Executive Director, USS and representatives of Civil Society Organizations. In the annual convention, girls and young women displayed Theater for Development (TFD) and advanced karate. “I am very much pleased to see the girls and young women are coming forward and taking leadership and the symbol is in front of me. I thank USS, Plan International Bangladesh, civil Society Organizations for organizing the convention for girls and young women” chief guest expressed his feelings in his speech. 14 girls and young women, CSOs were awarded crest for reducing gender based violence against girls and young women specially for stopping child marriage.
