Adolescent Forum and Gono Gobeshona Forum Activism of Polashbari union of Nilphamari district has inaugurated of the “16 Days celebration against Gender-based Violence 2020” under Promoting Gender Equality through Local Knowledge & People’s Initiative (PGELKPI) project of USS, supported by Diakonia on 25th November’2020. There were rally, seminars, panel discussion and prize giving on the event. 10 right-holder families from the union were given special prizes on their family success on gender equity. The Gono Gobeshona group (PAR group) selected the top 10 families via group discussion. These families showed significant improvement in gender equity and as a result yielded significant growth in their family income, education, health and wellbeing. This encouragement aligns with the theme of this year "Orange the World: Fund, Respond, Prevent, Collect"
Tohomina Begum, Vice chairman of the Polashbari union, noted in the speech that the USS has been working for years to promote gender equity in the project area and many families have developed significantly. Mr.Aminur Rhaman, the UP Member of the Polashbari union, Mr. Shosodhor Ray, Teacher of the Dubasuri Govt. Primary school present in the program. Besides Many community people, Adolescent forum members, Gonogobesona forum members were also present in the event. In the end, a stage drama was performed portraying an ideal family.
