Gender Training for Right Holder

Gender Equality through Peoples Initiative (GEPI) Project of USS arranged Gender Training for right holder supported by Manusher Jonno Foundation (MJF) at USS Head Office conference room from 13-14 November’2019. Alauddin Ali ED of USS delivered welcome speech and inaugurated the training. There were participated 25 right holders (women 16, man 3, adolescent girls 4 and adolescent boys 2) and they took actively participations in the training.

Objective of the training:

  • To increase knowledge about gender equality.
  • Initiative can be taken of participants against society made discrimination between male and female at family and society.
  •  Participants will be able to take mutual responsibilities between male and female
  • Men and boys are engaged in initiatives to prevent violence against women.
  • Participants can be play role to reduce gender based violence in family and society.
     

 In training discussed topic were aim, objective and values of USS, sex and gender, socialization, patriarchy, gender discriminations, gender need, gender equality, equity, gender awareness, role of productive, reproductive and social role, position and condition of women in family & society at present, violence, type of violence, causes & effect of violence against women, mainstreaming of gender, women rights, human rights, basic rights, women empowerment, different law of women empowerment etc. The training was facilitated by Salma Akter, GDO of USS. The training was conducting in participatory way and attractively.

After training the participants explain their opinion about the training. They said that: “We known about types of violence and if we need help then we can be take help with help line.” Said Samira. “I do not know about gender equality and equity before the training, now I am clear about this, so I will not discrimination between male and female.” Said Nishad. “Gender discrimination is not Wright in paper, it’s written in our mind so we should change our mind. Then we will get gender equality in our family and society.” Said Roshidul Dewan. At last Alauddin Ali ED of USS was declared end of the training.
