USC Canada Bangladesh

USS started development journey 1997 at Sadar Upazila of Nilphamari District. Till 2003 the period was
to gather experience without much well defined strategy. In 2003 USS defined the goal and objectives of
the organization in specific term and undertakes PAR (Participatory Action Research) as main approach
to work with poor and marginalized people in the area. USS envisions a democratic society free of
poverty and inequality where all the people are enjoying freedom, self-reliant, confident and
contributing to the development of country and nation as a citizen with democratic values.
Udayankur Seba Sangstha (USS) started journey through work with Life-Skills & Education for
Adolescent Development (LEAD) project activities establishing Adolescent education centre with the
support of USC Canada-Bangladesh (USCC-B) at Laxmichap and Palashbari union undef Sader
upazila of Nilphamari district since January, 2008 and it continued up to last of April’2010. There were
45 education centres in working areas.
USS worked with 496 participating households through Adolescent Livelihoods Opportunity (ALO)
project with the support of USCC-B at Laxmichap union undef Sader upazila of Nilphamari district
since May, 2010 to April’2015.
USC-Canada redesigned and renamed as Seeds of Survival (SoS) project from learning of ALO
project. USS is implementing the SoS project at Laxmichap and Palashbari union of Nilphamari
sadar upazila from May, 2015 supported by USC-Canada to improve seeds and nutrition for
young women and men. Total right holder of the project is 3340 consisting 19 villages (male-668
and female-2672). Still the SoS project is continuing. We are proud to continuing partnership
with USC-Canada.
